Continuing Education

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirement and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Oakstone Publishing, LLC and World Parkinson Coalition. Oakstone Publishing, LLC is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Oakstone Publishing, LLC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and ANCC Contact Hours.

Certificates for continuing education credits will be emailed to delegates after the congress. If you are using a travel agency to book your registration for the congress, be sure that they include your email address on the registration form. This avoids the confusion of having the certificate being sent to the travel agency.

Certificate of Attendance
Each delegate, regardless of registration category, will recieve a Certificate of Attendance via email post WPC. This is NOT the same as receiving continuing education credits. If you wish to receive continuing education credits this process needs to be requested prior to the WPC and can be done during the registration process or by writing to secretariat@worldpdcoalition.org. The fee for educational credits is $50USD.

Target Audience
The target audience of the 5th World Parkinson Congress included medical doctors, researchers, postdoctoral fellows, nurses, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, students, care partners and people with Parkinson's. Delegates should have an interest in current research on Parkinson's, new care models and treatments for Parkinson's and want to understand best care practices of Parkinson's disease.

Overall Learning Objectives
The overall Congress objective is to provide an international forum for dialogue on the latest scientific discoveries, medical practices and caregiver initiatives related to Parkinson’s disease (PD). By bringing physicians, neuroscientists, broad range of other health professionals, care partners, and people with Parkinson’s (PwPs) together, we hope to expedite the discovery of a cure, cultivate better treatment practices for those living with PD, and to show the health professionals in attendance that they can learn more about Parkinson's disease by cross-pollinating with experts outside of their daily world.
