Guide to Registration
Registration for the 5th World Parkinson Congress opens on September 10th. This page lets you know what you can expect to be asked when you go to register.

Here is the information you will be asked for:

Basic Contact Information: Name, address, email, phone number. This information allows us to provide you with the information and updates you need about the congress after you register.

Demographic Information: Age, ethnicity, sex, educational attainment. These questions are optional. You may skip over them if if you don wish to answer. We gather this information so that we can gain an accurate picture of who attends the congress. When we apply for grant funding we are asked to give demographic information about our attendees. Any information you are willing to share is extremely helpful. We only share demographic information in aggregate (i.e. x% of attendees are women). We do not share individual information (i.e. Jane Doe is a woman).

Sessions you are interested in attending: We ask everyone to choose which sessions they are interested in attending, so we can ensure that the most popular topics are in the larger rooms. Expressing interest in a session does not guarantee you a seat in that session. We recommend that you take a look at the program to see what you are interested in before you go to register.

Additional services & activities you can sign up for during registration:

Pre-Congress Courses: If you are attending all three days of the congress, you will have the option to sign up for a day-long pre-congress course on Tuesday, June 4. These courses are ticketed. Once they are full, that's it. You can view the pre-congress courses here.

Continuing Education Credits: While registering, you will have the option to sign up to receive continuing education credits fro the sessions you attend. The WPC 2019 will offer continuing education through an American provider, with reciprocity for non-American participants. The certificate of attendance is not the same as receiving continuing education credits. Certificates will be emailed to delegates after the congress. If you are using a travel agency to book your registration for the congress, be sure that they include your email address on the registration form. This avoids the confusion of having the certificate being sent to the travel agency. Learn more here.

Buddies Program: Once you register for the Congress, you will be asked if you would like to participate in the WPC Buddies Program. This program pairs people with Parkinson's with each other before the start of the congress, so that when you arrive at the congress there will be a friendly face in the crowd.  If you indicate YES, in the registration confirmation email you will find a link to the WPC Buddies Program application page to sign up to be a buddy. Once you have completed the application form, you will be contacted by one of the three WPC Buddies Program Coordinators. Learn more here.
